Adegbuyi’s appointment was announced via a statement released by Bolaji Adebiyi, the Director (Press) of the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.

The new Post-Master General is a lawyer from Ogun State and he replaces Dr Richard Balang who has been serving in the position since the sack of previous occupant, Enoch Ogun in March.
