Alexis Sanchez gets 16-month jail term for tax offences in Spain

Sanchez was found guilty of defrauding the treasury of €1 million between 2012 and 2013, relating to income from his image rights during his time in Barcelona.

The 29-year-old Manchester United forward spent three years in Spain when he was playing for Barcelona between 2011 and 2014.

The Chile international has accepted the prison sentence but luckily for him he won't be going to prison.

The former Arsenal star will be allowed by Spanish law to just pay the money he owes in interest and not go to prison.
