The act was done by an individual known as Muhmad Ehmad. A Twitter user @AngryIwas shared a screenshot of the hacked site.

A quick search on Google shows that Bella Naija was hacked. However, when you click on the link the page no longer exists.

The website has been restored fully. Bella Naija's Twitter account did not announce that the site had been hacked.

This is not the first time that a popular Nigerian website has been hacked. Linda Ikeji's blog has been hacked twice, in 2013 and 2015.

Nigerian Entertainment Today, popularly known as NET was hacked in 2013.

The hacking of top Nigerian sites had abated until the security of the Bella Naija site was breached early this morning.
