IG restores Speaker’s police escort

The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba has restored the police escort detail of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

The police officers resumed their duties at the Speaker’s residence today, March 18.

The security detail was withdrawn on October 28, 2014, after Tambuwal’s defection from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Department of State Security Services (DSS) had restored Tambuwal’s secret service security detail on Wednesday, March 11.
