Sanchez joined Arsenal in 2014 and has just a year and a half remaining on his £130,000-per-week deal.

A new five-year-contract has been offered by Arsenal but disagreement over the wages have been a stumbling block.

The 27-year-old is said to be asking for £200,000-per-week wage which Arsenal are unwilling to agree to.

The slow progress in the contract talks has put Inter on alert for a shock move for the former Udinese player.

Inter have a war chest of about €150 million to improve their squad and the Chilean is their number one target.

Manchester City are also interested in the striker who has scored eight Premier League goals this season.
