Arsenal manager wants massive support for forward after own goal
Iwobi’s header deflected a Lucas Moura header past David Ospina for Paris Saint-Germain’s second goalwhich puts the Ligue 1 side on top of the group.
After the game, Wenger had sympathy for Iwobi and asked for massive support for the 20-year-old.
“Look, it can happen. The frustrating thing I think is that Ospina was behind him. He is certainly the most disappointed by what happened to him,” Arsene Wenger told Arsenal official website.
“But that is part of the game. We have to take that on the chin and support him and go back into the next game.”
Arsenal midfielder, Aaron Ramsey also offered his support for the forward who was making his seventh Champions League appearance for the Gunners.
“You’ve got to feel for him, but he wasn’t aware of what was behind him,” Ramsey said after the game.
“I feel for him but we’re in it together. It was important not to lose and that’s what we managed not to do.”
Arsenal are now second in the Group and must win their last game away at Basel and hope Ludogorets get at least a point at PSG.
