Buhari beats Jonathan inside Aso Villa

Buhari won majority of the votes cast in the two polling units, Unit 021 and 022, located inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

 

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday, March 28, defeated President Goodluck Jonathan in Aso Villa, Abuja.

Buhari won majority of the votes cast in the two polling units, Unit 021 and 022, located inside the Presidential Villa, Punch reports.

Buhari garnered a total of 613 votes in the Aso Villa units while Jonathan got a total of 595 votes.

Counting is still ongoing in various areas of Nigeria and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended voting till today, March 29 due to difficulties experienced in some wards.

INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega has said that results would be announced 48 hours after voting ends.
