Tribunal grants Obaseki permission to inspect electoral materials

The tribunal had on Tuesday granted the PDP and its candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu same request.

The tribunal  led by Justice A. T. Badamasi granted a  motion exparte to Obaseki and the APC on Wednesday, October 12, 48 hours after it granted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu the same request.

Following the motion ex-parte filed by the APC on October 12, 2016, and marked EPT/EDS/GOV/2M/2016, the three-man tribunal directed the  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to allow the party and Obaseki to inspect the election materials

On September 29, INEC declared Obaseki the winner of the election having secured the high number of votes - a total of 319,483, as against PDP's Ize-Iyamu who polled 253,173 votes.
