Popular Port Harcourt Pastor Akinola dies hours after TB Joshua

Akinola commanded such a huge following in the south as well.

Akinola died just hours after Prophet TB Joshua of the Lagos-based Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), who passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

Akinola died in the early hours of Sunday, June 6, 2021.

He reportedly underwent a kidney transplant a couple of months ago, although the cause of his death could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

Hundreds of worshipers besieged the church headquarters in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, to mourn him after news of his death broke.

“Yes, it is a very sad day for the Christian community. While we were still talking of Prophet TB Joshua, Akinola’s death happened," Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and ex-Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Rivers State, Apostle Eugene Ogu, tells Punch newspapers.
