Monarch's kidnappers demand N500m ransom

While the monarch's wife was allegedly shot by the gunmen, there little or no information about his possible whereabouts.

According to a report by PM News, the kidnappers, who whisked away the first class traditional ruler in Lagos, have demanded the sum of N500m Lagos for his release.

It was also reported that the Lagos monarch, whose guard was killed while the gunmen whisked him out of the Palace on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at about 11.30pm, was taken away through the waterways.

However, the monarch’s younger wife and two other persons, who were reportedly shot ‎during the incident are recuperating at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, SP Dolapo Badamus, had said that "the police are on the trail of the suspects but no arrest has been made yet’’.

In recent time, kidnapping has become one of the numerous crimes giving the Nigerian Police sleepless nights.
