US Secretary of State arrives in Sokoto [PHOTO]

Kerry is expected to deliver a speech on the importance of resilient communities and religious tolerance in countering violent extremism in Sokoto.

John Kerry arrives in Sokoto State on August 23, 2016

Kerry arrived in Nigeria today, August 23, 2016, to hold discussions on Nigeria’s fight against terrorism.

In Sokoto, he is expected to deliver a speech on the importance of resilient communities and religious tolerance in countering violent extremism.

He will also meet with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja to discuss counter-terrorism efforts, the Nigerian economy, the fight against corruption and human rights issues.

Kerry will leave Nigeria for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, August 24.
