"We came to the Lagos State House of Assembly based on the laws before us on traffic management and control in Sokoto State. Lagos State has recorded a lot of successes on transportation. We want to borrow their ideas and take it to our state.

So far, we have been able to get some ideas from them that would make our state achieve what Lagos State has achieved on traffic over the years. We should be able to pass the Bill into law within the next one month."

As part of the new traffic law, the state government inaugurated mobile courts on Friday, February 5th.

The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade, said the mobile court will bring "the era of recklessness and impunity on our public roads and highways to an end."
