Toyota has a new model, a plug-in hybrid electric car called Prius Prime.

According to the auto maker, this particular name was chosen because "prime means best, making it the perfect name for one of the most technologically advanced, best-equipped Prius in the model’s history."

Other than being the best plug-in hybrid on the market, the Prime is also crash-proof, Carbuzz reports.

This is due to the presence of safety technology such as Toyota Safety Sense, which includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, automatic braking, more, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

An 11.6-inch HD touch screen, and quad LED headlights that "glow like diamonds cutting the night," are also features of this hybrid.

This car also has the capability to travel for 22miles on electricity.

However, it only lasts for 84 hours, at most.

As the name suggests, it can be recharged with a standard household outlet in 5.5 hours or in half that time with a 240V source.

Check it out.
