British association blames traffic on wide bicycle lanes
Commuters are asking for the reduction of bicycle lanes, which have been blamed for traffic.

Evening Standard reports that the Mayor has been asked to reduce the lanes, and take a “planned and co-ordinated” approach towards traffic decongestion.
“Some proposals require only modest expenditure and could be implemented quickly. Others will take longer. But they all require a strong commitment to using the Mayor’s influence and strategic powers to achieve a planned, co-ordinated approach, ” a report read.
Last month, the Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'ah, Dr. Mash'ud Adenrele Fashola, offered the creation of bicycle paths as a solution to Lagos traffic.
"Creation of bicycle paths is the practice even in advanced societies. Lagos State and its people are suffering because of the traffic jam. If we can solve the challenge of the traffic jam, we would have solved 90 per cent of Lagosians' problems.
We need to create bicycle paths. Bicycle paths would be short-cuts. When you look at roads, you are deceived. The roads are wide. If you are going from here, the road can take you round and round but bicycle paths can take right of way from even private premises and within 10 minutes, you can reach your place of work by bicycle."
