There isn't really very much that differentiates the new BMW 6-series Coupe from the old one except some little face-lifts on the exterior and the little tweaks in the interior and under the bonnet.

The front and rear bumpers are new, a pair of standard LED headlights, and a tweaked grille are all the changes that come with the new 6-series coupe. Inside, its all the same save for the addition of a tactile leathery dash and some shiny piano black trim.

The exact model in review is the 640-d which is the one that will be available in the UK. It has a pretty good 3.0 litre straight six diesel engine that makes 309 bhp and 465lb ft of torque with an official emission rating of 134g/Km of CO2.

The car will do 0-60 in 5.3 secs and will reach an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

Whether it is practical and worth the £62, 000 price tag is another thing entirely. The four door 6-series Gran Coupe is better looking, more practical and is exactly the same price and this.
