CEO discloses the release date for 800-HP electric rapide

The Aston Martin CEO, Andy Palmer, recently confirmed the release date for a possible all-electric version of the Rapide four-door.

Last weekend, at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the Aston Martin CEO, Andy Palmer, announced that the 800-HP electric rapide will arrive in two years.

He revealed that it would boast 800 horsepower and a 200-mile range,adding that an electric version of the planned DBX crossover would follow.

Andy also told Automotive News that this electric car, the 800-HP electric rapide, could fill a space that electric car leader Tesla Motors can't cover.

"What Tesla clearly shows you is we haven’t hit the ceiling in terms of. But I think it’s hard, though not impossible, for them as a relatively new brand to keep pushing up and to go into that super premier area.”
