How to deliver the perfect bridesmaid speech

The first thing to note here is that you'll do a better job when you are prepared than when you are spontaneous.

How to deliver the perfect bridesmaid speech

So if you get everything right prior to the ceremony itself, it's only appropriate that you complete the deal by doing everything right during the ceremony, too.

In the instance that you are called upon to deliver a speech, you should be prepared so as to nail it and get yourself remembered by the couple as the bridesmaid that added extra fun to the day.

Here are some of the tips you should familiarize yourself with.

1. Ensure to introduce yourself. People need perspective.  By telling them the kind of relationship you have with the bride, If you're the bride's best friend, explain that.

2. You do not have to be overly emotional.

Try to do an adequate mixture of emotional, funny  and entertaining.

3. Remember to add something nice about the groom. Do not let your speech be only about the bride. The day isn’t hers alone.

4. Less is more. This rule works with speeches. Aim for five and never more than 10 minutes.

5. Winging it might work on few occasions but you will be better served if you are prepared. Very well prepared as a matter of fact.

6. There’s never need to memorise and look like someone programmed. You want to appear and sound as heartfelt as possible.

7. Keep it natural and be yourself. No need for forced jokes and all.

If you are naturally funny, though, then infuse a bit of humour here and there, but be sure to balance it.
