1. Mount Bromo, Indonesia

Mount Bromo, the only active volcano on the island of Java in Indonesia is known for its unparalleled views of the sunrise.

The mountain stands tall at 2329meters and is the most iconic and the most hiked mountain in Indonesia. It beckons majestically despite having the entire top blown off and with a crater inside that keeps spewing off-white sulphurous smoke.

2. Erg Chebbi, Morocco

Erg Chebbi is one of Morocco's two Saharan ergs, formed by wind-blown sand. The dunes of Erg Chebbi reach a height of up to 150 meters in places and altogether it spans an area of 50 kilometers from north to south and up to 5–10 kilometers from east to west.

A number of companies offer camel trips from Merzouga and into the desert, taking tourists on overnight trips several kilometres into the erg, which is enough to bring the village out of sight.

3. Bryce Canyon, Utah

Bryce Canyon is a beautiful selection of natural amphitheatres.

Bryce Canyon National Park, a sprawling reserve in southern Utah, is known for crimson-coloured hoodoos, which are spire-shaped rock formations. Frost weathering and water erosion have created these bizarre looking pillars.

4. Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

Ha Long Bay, in northeast Vietnam, is known for its emerald waters and towering limestone islands topped by rainforests. The region is popular for scuba diving, rock climbing and hiking, particularly in mountainous Cát Bà National Park.

Junk boat tours and sea kayak expeditions take visitors past islands named for their shapes, including Stone Dog and Teapot islets.

5. Blue Lagoon, Iceland

The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. The spa is located in a lava field in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula, southwestern Iceland in a location favourable for Geothermal power, and is supplied by water used in the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power station.

The warm waters are rich in minerals like silica and sulfur. Bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help some people suffering from skin diseases such as psoriasis.

6. The Dead Sea, Israel

Due to its high salt content, the dead sea is a wonder to behold. There are no animals or life forms besides bacteria in the sea. You can also easily float in the waters said to have healing qualities.

7. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China

The most notable geographic features of the park are the pillar-like formations that are seen throughout the park. They are the result of many years of physical erosion. Much of the weathering which forms these pillars are the result of expanding ice in the winter and the plants which grow on them. These formations are a distinct hallmark of Chinese landscape and can be found in many ancient Chinese paintings.

8. Uluru (Ayer's Rock), Australia

This sandstone formation that looks like Pride Rock in "Lion King" has a circumference of about 5.8 miles.

Uluru, also known as Ayer's Rock, is located in a remote area in Australia's Northern Territory and is also home to the Anangu Aboriginal people.

9. Valle de la Luna, Chile

A valley in Los Flamencos National Reserve, in northern Chile’s Atacama Desert, Valle de la Luna  is known for its moon-like landscape of dunes, rugged mountains and distinctive rock formations.

An impressive range of textures and colours in the area and the dry lakes which look like craters give this place its stunning look.

10. Jiuzhaigou Valley, China

Jiuzhaigou means takes its name from the nine Tibetan villages found in the valley. The entire valley is filled with beautiful rivers, lakes, and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is an important natural wonder classified as a World Biosphere Reserve.
