Luxury streetwear brand; Sanusi Lagos unveils Spring/Summer 2016 collection

Emerging premium streetwear brand; Sanusi Lagos has unveiled  a vibrant Spring/Summer 2016 collection titled 'PUSHAS'.

Sanusi is an exclusive streetwear brand with a womenswear diffusion line, the brand found in October 2013 is owned by the duo of celebrity stylist; Seyi Sanusi and UK based fashion designer; Adesola Obebe.

The 'PUSHAS' collection, the third for the brand was "created with the agenda of starting a new movement in Africa".

The brand reveals, "Streetwear has become a full-fledged lifestyle that is a powerful force in the conversation of fashion, music, and pop culture. We wanted to introduce this distinctive style of street fashion to the African market by creating and manufacturing in our hometown, Lagos".

The collection broken up into various segments namely Heritage; "the first segment we sourced local African print fabrics and fused this with an urban edge", Music; where the brand chose a bold colour palette of Red, White, Grey and Black inspired by hip hop artists love of sportswear and comfort.

Other segments include Pop Culture;  which the brand shared is not for the faint-hearted, "we play with taboo issues in Nigeria for example our red camouflage print is a play on the ban of 'military green camouflage' in Nigeria".

The S/S'16 unisex collection is inspired by the environment, culture, lifestyle, music, luxury, streetwear and more. Sanusi is a fresh perspective to Nigerian design and also a favourite with the most fashion forward African celebrities including Ice Prince, D’Banj, Iyanya, Wizkid, Davido, The Mavins and more.

The aim of their collaboration is to bring high quality streetwear to their hometown Lagos, Nigeria and to the rest of the world.
