Speaking at the press conference which took place at Newcastle hotel, Oniru on Friday, July 6, 2018, Executive Director JAN, Dr. Simi Nwogugu said "I developed LEAD camp back in 2001 because, after 2 years of running JAN, I noticed that some of the girls who were shy or timid at the beginning of the company program were more confident by the end and needed just a little more encouragement to secure their new found leadership skills".

"17years later, we now have several notable LEAD camp alumni leading and working in positions and positions doing impactful work to make the world a better place" she concluded.
