60-yr old supermodel reveals ONLY reason she launched cosmetics brand
Sixty year old (60) supermodel Iman Abdulmajid reveals she launched her IMAN cosmetics line because of discrimination in the modelling industry as she opens up on her experiences in a rare interview.
The Somali-American fashion model and entrepreneur married to David Bowie pioneered the launch of ethnic cosmetics with own line of Iman Cosmetics but she recently admitted creating the brand because of the discrimination in the modelling industry.
Only recently popular South Sudanese model Nykhor Paul poured out her frustrations in the modelling industry in a rant which trended on social media
Born Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid , the sixty (year old) super model who arrived in New York in 1975 revealed she was taken aback at her first ever photoshoot for Vogue when she was asked for her own foundation going on to reveal the makeup artist had to make a cocktail of foundation to create a hideous makeup look for her, which thankfully was manageable only because the shoot was done in black and white!
Iman rose to become one of fashion and beauty’s most famous faces in the 80's to the 90's but her experience was the only reason she chose to launch her own brand IMAN Cosmetics in 1994.
After her experience Iman bought every pigmented foundation in the market to be mixed and matched for her whenever she goes for a shoot and for every fashion show she worked in!
“I knew what I wanted to do when I retired from modeling. I wanted to create a brand for those of us who were ignored, It is for all the beauties around the world who march to their own new world beauty.” Iman Abdulmajid who owns the IMAN franchise revealed to Yahoo Beauty.
