Delta State police shoots dead notorious robber named Tompolo

The robbery gang leader was killed when he and his criminal associates attempted to rob a woman of her money.

Through a joint effort with members of the SEDCO Community Vigilante, the officers who are stationed at the Enerhen Police Divisional Headquarters were able to foil the attack on the woman.

The killing of the robber which happened on Sunday, April 16, 2017. around Dugbo Estate located in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state is expected to bring relief to residents who have stayed too long under his reign of terror.

CSP Hassan Galadima, a  Divisional Police Officer in Enerhen confirmed the shooting of Tompolo in a chat with the Daily Post News.

He said, "I’m aware of the incident. It’s not just the vigilante that killed the robber.

"They were on patrol with the police. We shot him and the rest escaped with bullet wounds.

"We recovered from them some expended and live cartridges inside the gun."

Report says that the victim of the attack who is a trader, was on her way to the market when the robbers attacked her.
