Nollywood filmmakers support Kunle Afolayan's fight against piracy of movie

Filmmakers and fans of Kunle Afolayan begin seizure and destruction of copies of pirated copies of 'October 1' on streets.

Actor seizes pirated copies of 'October 1' from road sellers

On Monday, April 13, 2015,

Kunle took to his Instagram page to alert fans and plead with them not to purchase movie.

Some Nollywood filmmakers and fans have joined Kunle in the fight against piracy.

From Reposting photos on social media to breaking CDs on the streets, they are indeed ready to put an end to it.

Actor and television presenter, Yemi Sodimu, seized copies of pirated movies from road sellers,and posted photos on Facebook.

Check out the comment of Sola Oyekanmi, who also seized copies of the pirated film:

” I was driving along Opebi road some minutes back and saw about 12 guys hawking ‘Kunle Afolayan’s October 1. They were stacks of them. At the red light stop, I asked one of them to come over, he approached me saying oga, na #500 naira.”

According to Sola, he demanded for 20 copies

“I rolled up my window and started opening the packs. I broke all the 20 CDS, rolled down and threw all the broken all the broken CDS and packs back at him as the traffic light passed me except one for evidence. I shouted curses at him and when he tried to approach me I stopped my car and opened the door to get out, I was ready to pounce on him…”

Kunle revealed that he is yet to realize half of the money used in making the movie.
