Actress reveals biggest risk ever taken as a filmmaker

In this exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, Ghanaian star Juliet Ibrahim dished out on the biggest risk she has ever taken as a filmmaker.

Being an actress, producer and director has to come with lots of risk, and in this exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, Juliet Ibrahim dished out on her biggest risk.

“The biggest risk I have taken Is deciding to be a filmmaker. Because, I had to take my own personal fund to shoot a movie," she said.

"That alone is a risk, especially in our industry where we don’t have the support of our very own people.

"We have people that you meet on a daily basis, and you tell them you have a movie coming up for a premiere, and they tell you “I don’t watch African movies.

"You have to take your time to convince these kind of people to support African movies."

The actress also stated that she doesn’t regret her decision to become a producer. According to her, she has been receiving positive reviews for her 1st movie ‘The Number 1 fan.’

The actress recently produced her 2nd movie, which is written and directed by Eddie Nartey, and stars  Juliet Ibrahim, Sonia Ibrahim, James Gardiner, Bryan Okwara, Pascaline Edwards Gbenro Ajibade, among others.
