Rapper plays down plans of marriage

The rapper, who was on Beat FM to talk about his second studio album, mentioned that his focus is on music at the moment.

Nigerian rapper, Phyno, has played down plans to get married anytime soon, after bluntly admitting in a chat that he is currently married to his music.

Phyno mentioned this when he was having a chat on Beat FM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, where he was to promote his second studio album provisionally called ‘Phyno the Playmaker’.

When he was asked about plans to get married, he said, "I think Flavour is right about entertainers and marriage. Right to some extent and wrong to some extent. Depends on your wife. If your wife is jealous, she may not be able to handle it".

"For me, talking about marriage, when it happens it happens. I’m old enough to marry. But I’m married to the music right now", he added.

The "Alobam" rapper commented about the ongoing baby mama syndrome common among Nigerian male entertainers.

Recently, dance-hall singer, Burna Boy, was accused by a lady named Uju Stella, for impregnating her and abandoning her.

Phyno noted on his own and said, "I don’t believe I shouldn’t marry. 90% of acts that have baby mamas never planned it. Nobody dey plan am. When it happens, you then decide what to do. Your kid is your kid at the end of the day, whether you marry the mother or not".

The rapper began his career as a music producer, which earned him the name "Phyno", which was coined from "Phenomenal".
