See the top 20 universities with the most employable graduates in Nigeria

Stutern, an online platform that connects interns with employers list 20 Nigerian universities and the employability of their graduates.

In May 2017, Stutern, an online platform that connects interns with employers with available internship positions rated Nigerian universities in relations with the employability of their graduates.

According to Stutern, the followings are the 20 Nigerian universities with graduates that have chances of being employed over their counterparts in other universities.

1. Covenant University

According to the report, this institution has the highest employable graduates in Nigeria. The faith-based institution has 90% employability rate.

2. University of Abeokuta

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun state has an employability rate of 84.62% and occupies the second position in the rating.

3. Obafemi Awolowo University

Obafemi Awolowo University OAU is the third institution on the list with 83.33% per cent employability rate. The university is one of the first generation tertiary institutions in Nigeria, established in 1961.

4. Federal University of Technology, Akure

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is one of the foremost tech-based institutions in Nigeria. The institution is placed fourth in the Stutern's ranking with 80% employability rate.

5. University of Ilorin

Popularly known as UNILORIN and prides itself as an institution that is better than others by far, the University of Ilorin has an employability rate of 77.78 per cent. According to  Economic Confidential reports in 2017, UNILORIN is one of the two most sought-after universities in Nigeria.

6. Ekiti State University

Established in 1982 as none of the first generation state universities, EKSU has an employability rate of 75.00%.

7. University of Uyo

Formerly known as the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), University of Uyo ranks sixth with 75.00%. The university was established in 1991.

8. Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye (OOU)

Named after the former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, OOU is the owned and controlled by the Ogun State Government. The University which was established in 1982 is rated 7th in Stutern's most employable universities with 75.00%.

9. Babcock University, Ilisan Remo

Babcock is the second private university on the list, The faith-based university has an employability rate of 73.68%. The university was established as the Adventist College of West Africa (ACWA) in 1959.

10.  University of Lagos

Popularly knowns as UNILAG and prides itself as the number one first choice university, UNILAG occupies the tenth position in on the list with 73.24% employability rate.

11. Federal University of Technology, Owerri

FUTO is the second tech-based institution on the list. The institution is one of the most popular universities of technology established in the 1980s. The employability rate of this institution according to Stutern report is 72.73%.

12.  University of Port Harcourt

UNIPORT has 65.00% employability rate. The University of Port Harcourt is a second-generation Federal University located in the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria with over 50,000 students.

13. University of Ibadan

The  University of Ibadan is believed to be the best university in Nigeria according to world universities rankings. The institution is also the first university in the country and has a good history too. However, the institution graduates employability according to Stutern has 62.50 % rate.

14. University of Benin

Popularly known as UNIBEST among students, the university which was established in 1970  as one of the second generation Federal Government Universities has 59.09 % employability rating.

15. Lagos State University

Lagos State University LASU is believed to be the best state university in Nigeria as always shown in webometrics world university ranking. LASU occupies 15th position in employability rating with 58.82%.

16. University of Nigeria, Nsukka

With 56.25%, UNN, a first generation university in Nigeria came 16th in employability rating.

Founded in 1991, UNIZIK is a multi-campus university with the main campus in Anambra state. The institution has a 55.56% employability rate.

20. Ahmadu Bello University

Popularly known as ABU, Ahmadu Bello University is a first generation institution in Zaria, Kaduna state, The university has 50.00% employability rate.
