James Fortune, Gospel singer sentenced to prison for assaulting his wife

According to Fortune kicked his wife, slammed her against the wall and hit her with a vanity stool at their Stafford home in October 2014.

Following the court hearing, Fortune received five days in jail, five years of probation, and 175 hours of community service.

He has since apologised to his fans on Instagram.

"Despite the accusations and media embellishments, I am not a supporter of domestic violence," Fortune said.
