Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi disappointed over Leicester City's 5th place finish
Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi Wilfred has expressed his disappointment over Leicester City's fifth-place finish after the conclusion of the 2019/2020 Premier League season.
Leicester City were impressive for the most of the season and were on course to finish in Champions League places before a run of bad results after Project Restart ruined their chances.
They had one last chance to grab a Champions League spot but a 2-0 loss to Manchester United in the last game of the season meant they finished fifth.
Although he was disappointed, Ndidi still believes it was a great season for Leicester City.
“We are a bit disappointed to finish 5th. But overall. It was a great season!! I want to first of all thank our fans/supporters for being with us even when the stadiums were empty due to the whole pandemic, it was indeed a season to learn from and grow into next season thanks for the support,” the 23-year-old wrote on Twitter.
The Nigeria international had a good season also with 32 appearances in the Premier League. He managed two goals and also continued to be the top tackler in the league.
Ndidi made 129 successful tackles alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United.
