According to Daily Trust, the girls were found rescued at Jilli-Muwarti, a border village between Gaidam in Yobe state and Borno State.
Citing a security source, the report said students are on their way to Gaidam in Yobe for medical check-up before proceeding to Damaturu, the state capital.
The schoolgirls - 94 of them - were kidnapped last Monday by suspected Boko Haram terrorists from Government Girls Science Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi in Yobe.
The girls abduction became public on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
In reaction, President Muhammadu Buhari said he had directed the military and police to immediately swing into action and ensure the release of the girls before they are taken far off as with the case of the Chibok schoolgirls.
According to one of Buhari's aide, Bashir Ahmad, the Yobe state government has confirmed the girls' rescue.
"The Yobe State Government hereby informs the public that the girls at Government Girls Science Technical College (GGSTC) whose school was attacked by Boko Haram terrorists last Monday have been rescued by the Nigerian Army", Ahmad wrote on Twitter.
In April 2014, Boko Haram stormed the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok, Borno State and abducted 276 female students.
A total of 57 of the girls, however, managed to escape over the next few months while the Federal Government secured the release 21 girls in October 2016 and another 82 of the girls were freed in May 2017 in exchange for ransom.
