Osimhen and Lookman continued their impressive streak in front of goal as they traded goals, although the latter ended up on the losing side.

Lookman and Osimhen trade goals

Going into the match, Lookman had scored five league goals for Atalanta, including four in his last five games, and he continued from where he left off as he put Atalanta ahead in the 19th minute.

Lookman's goal came courtesy of help from his countryman, Osimhen, after he was penalised for a handball following an Atalanta corner.

The former Leicester City man stepped up to convert the spot-kick perfectly for his seventh goal in the Italian top flight.

The goal means Lookman has now equalled his best tally in a single campaign in Europe's top five leagues after just 13 games.

Lookman celebrated the goal by replicating Cristiano Ronaldo's latest celebration. However, his joy was shortlived as Napoli drew level four minutes later through Osimhen.

Osimhen redeemed himself as he headed in a cross from Piotr Zielinski. It was Osimhen's eighth goal in the league this season and his fifth in his last six games for Napoli.

The goal was also his 32nd in the league, surpassing Simy Nwankwo as Nigeria's all-time top scorer in the Italian Serie A.

Moments later, Osimhen turned from scorer to provider as he did brilliantly to hold off Merih Demiral before setting up Eljif Elmas for the winner in the 35th minute.

The victory extends their lead at the top of the table to eight points, although AC Milan can reduce it to six if they beat Spezia on Saturday night.
