The
Rohr in August 2016 signed a deal with the NFF to become the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles replacing former coach Sunday Oliseh who resigned in February 2016.

The deal will, however, be terminated if he fails to lead the Super Eagles to the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification.
This was revealed by the Media Officer of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye while responding to criticism of the Rohr by some section of the media.
“The mandate given Rohr by his employers is; Get the @NGSuperEagles to the 2018 World Cup in Russia or your contract won't be extended,” Ibitoye said on Twitter.
The Super Eagles under Rohr has gotten off to a good start in their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers winning their first two group games.

They won away at Zambia in October 2016 and beat Algeria 3-1 at home a month later.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria now lead Group B of the qualifiers with six points from two games.
Cameroon are second with two points while Zambia and Algeria are bottom of the group.
