Liverpool star Mohammed Salah made history as the first player to win the Premier League Player of the Month three times in a season.

Salah was named Premier League Player of the month for March as he beat Manchester City's  David Silva, Everton's Cenk Tosun, Manchester United's Romelu Lukaku, Tottenham's  Heung-Min Son and Burnley's Chris Wood to the accolade.

The 25-year-old scored a total of six Premier League goals and contributed one assist in a total of four matches for Liverpool in March.

The Egypt international won his first award in November 2017 and later won his second in February 2018.

With two more Player of the Month awards to be given for April and May, Salah can still extend his record after his previous victories.

Salah is also leading the goalscoring charts with 29 goals ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, and is also favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year ahead of Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.

By winning consecutive Player of the Month awards, Salah has emulated premier league players such as Robbie Fowler, Dennis Bergkamp, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy who won it twice in a season.

Salah will aim to continue his goalscoring patch when Liverpool host Bournemouth in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday, April 14.

He beat Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, Manchester United's Jose Mourinho and Leicester City's Claude Puel to the award.

Jamie Vardy won the Premier League Goal of the Month for his volley against in Leicester's 4-1 win against West Bromwich Albion.

Vardy scored the equaliser for Leicester when he volleyed a ball by Riyad Mahrez into the net.
