Super Eagles defender recovers from ankle injury, confident of victory against Zambia

No injury worries for Echiejile as the Super Eagles prepare for the game against Zambia.

Echiejile hurt his ankle during Super Eagles training on Tuesday, October 3 and was a doubt for the game.

He has however recovered and trained with the Super Eagles on Wednesday and Thursday.

At the press conference on Thursday, Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr revealed that he does not have any injury scare  ahead of the game.

“No injuries, little knock on the ankle of Elderson, Echiejile will be ready,” Rohr revealed.

Ahead of the game, Echiejile who has been a constant feature at left back for the Super Eagles is confident of victory which will seal Nigeria’s qualification to the World Cup.

“Everyone’s dream is to see us fly Nigeria’s flag at the Russia world cup next year, with hard work and determination and with the support of Nigerians, we are already in Russia,” the defender said.

Nigeria welcome Zambia on Saturday, October 7 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
