President congratulates Anambra Governor on reelection victory

The president urged Obiano to re-dedicate himself to building on his achievements.

The governor, under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA),  won in all the 21 local government areas of the state with a total of 234,071 votes.

In a press statement signed by the president's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president hailed Obiano's victory as a triumph of free and fair elections in the country.

He said, "The processes leading to the election and its peaceful conduct and outcome, have shown that our electoral reform is bearing positive fruits.

"This is very encouraging and I am determined to give Nigeria free and fair elections, no matter which way the results swing."

While describing the conduct of all the contestants as  a "heart-warming and a renewal of confidence in the sanctity of the ballot which deepens our nation's democracy", the president urged Obiano to re-dedicate himself to building on his achievements that endeared him to the electorate and swayed the overwhelming majority of votes in his favour.
