Nigerian man arrested in India for kidney donation fraud
A Nigerian man has been arrested in India after he created a fake hospital website and ran a kidney donation scam, defrauding innocent victims of millions.

Times of India reports that Uba who arrived the country on a tourist visa in 2013 from Nigeria, created a fake hospital website and ran advertisements in some national papers where he promised to help his victims secure kidney donations.
Uba was said to have asked anyone in need of a kidney to contact him as he had a bank of kidneys to sell.
A police statement said Uba asked those who contacted him to pay various sums into his bank account but failed to render the services he advertised and when they realised they had been scammed, the victims filed a complaint with the Kolkata Cyber Crime Police in April 2017.

After a strenuous investigation, Uba was traced through his phone’s call record details and arrested at a friend’s place he was hiding in Nagenahalli Dinne near Kothanur.
