The Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Dr Shehu Adamu, told journalists in Kaduna that the hiccups identified in running the scheme had been sorted out.

He warned that the administration would deal decisively with any official found sabotaging the programme.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the government had recently sacked a headmaster and one other official for diverting food meant for pupils in their schools.

It had also placed two officials on suspension for alleged sharp practice in running the school feeding programme.

Adamu appealed to parents and other stakeholders to support the state government to reposition the education sector.

The commissioner assured that the 2, 700 teachers not paid salary for months would soon be paid following the verification of their status.
