The anniversary, themed, 'In His Presence," kicked off by 6 pm with a special rendition of the National anthem, a welcome speech by the MCs and recognition of the dignitaries.

Once the introductory part of the affair was over, Pastor Kunle Ajayi took to the stage to deliver a beautiful cover of the Wa Ba Mi Se song from the 1984 gospel album.

This was followed by another spectacular performance of How Great Thou Art featuring Donald Duke from 1988 album.

He did a total of 15 songs with help from talented artistes like Ebenezer Obey, Beejay Sax, and Nathanial Bassey.

The best was a special number by his sons, Damilola and Bayo Ajayi, who were eventually joined by the minister himself.

Pastor Ajayi was born on June 16, 1964, in Mushin area of Lagos State.

His musical career was inspired by the late Fela who was also a saxophonist. Despite a lung problem, the maestro persisted in playing this instrument as he held on to God. Now, he plays the drums,  the Guitar, as well as the Sax.

In his words, “I used to visit Fela’s Shrine around Mosalashi in Mushin a lot as a young boy. He would come out with his saxophone and pants and play to the delight of the fans. I fell in love with the way he played the instrument.

“Fela blew the instrument with passion and from the first day I set my eyes on him, I fell in love with him and the saxophone. I am happy I have been able to live that dream through the amazing grace of God."

“Then later, I developed lung problem and I promised God that if He could heal me, I would blow it for Him. I had been ill from age 15 and by the grace of God, I was healed years later and that was how I picked up the saxophone to appreciate God for saving my life.”
