It started in 2005

The first Experience was held twelve years by House on the Rock. Since then, it has only grown gaining over 750k worshippers this year. The calibre of headliners has only gotten better with Don Moen, Travis Greene, Donnie McClurkin and more becoming regular performers.

According to Pastor Paul Adefarasin, “The Experience Lagos is more than a gospel music concert and it certainly surpasses a brand. This annual calendar event reunites people irrespective of race, creed or gender.

“It is a faith-based gathering of hundreds of thousands; an unequivocal cry of the created to the creator and a bonafide sacrifice of praise.”

We can all agree that this is certainly the truth.

It is free

Being such a huge event, one would think that people would be charged to get in. Thankfully, this is not the case as the event was totally free to everyone this year.

During the Press Conference, Adefarasin explained why saying, “the only offering we want is from your hearts through your mouths.”

The fact that it is free does not stop the event from contributing to the nation.

According to the House on the Rock senior pastor, the concert has encouraged the growth of Small and Medium Enterprise sector.

The theme for this year

This year’s edition was themed ‘Jesus Our King.’ Explaining the reason for this particular theme, the Host says the theme reminds us to recognise and worship God in spite of everything.

Concerning the goal, the host, Pastor Adefarasin says the “singular objective and overreaching purpose for The Experience remains that each and every participant will have a close-up and personal life-changing and enduring encounter with the creator.”

It is one of the World’s biggest gospel concerts

Vanguard reports that Pastor Adefarasin says it has been ranked as one of the 10 most attended global concerts.

With almost a 1M worshippers, it certainly deserves this title.

There was an extension at House on the Rock

Many people left on Saturday evening thinking The Experience was over. Unkown to them, the musical event continued with an overflow at the church on Sunday, December 3, 2017.
