The rising rapper signed onto Tinny Entertainment is charting across the continent, buoyed by his two hit singles ‘Condo’ and more recently ‘Jagaban’.

In a chat with Pulse TV, Ycee shares his story, how the journey has been to get the attention of music lovers, and the concept behind his singles.

“2015 saw me make a re-entry into the music industry. I rebranded, we put out new music – ‘Condo’ ft Patoranking – and my latest single ‘Jagaban’ and it’s been up, up, up up,…” Ycee said.

“I just thank God for his many blessings, and my management, my team, everybody is going hard on all fronts.”

Ycee released his single ‘Condo’ in May 2015, which gave him the attention, and then went one better with Jagaban. He tells Pulse his experience and thought processes behind the choice of style.

“With ‘Condo’, a lot of people were like ‘who is this American guy that featured Patoranking?’. I think maybe I went too far out, and so I had to like bring them back and say, ‘Yo, I’m a Lagos boy, I’m a Yoruba boy, I’m actually Nigerian.”
