What if your favorite celebrities became hit songs?
Don’t we all love celebrities and all they represent? They come in awesome packages, like products, developed after years of research, hard work, fortune, planning and execution. Although we get to see the glitter and dazzle that they pack, you have to understand that being an instant celebrity in Nigeria takes a minimum of 5 years of work behind the scene.
We all love to project our fantasies and desires on these artiste. Once upon a time, as a child, my greatest wish was to sing like Tony Tetuila, and rap like the great Sky B. But all of that has passed. Sky B is currently a dirt mark on Nigerian music history (with nobody willing to publicly admit to enjoying his cheesy rap flows), and Tony became washed up. See how that worked for me.
A crucial part of projecting our self on to the celebrities is to connect them to the music we listen. How many times have we thought about a star while listening to music, and our minds instantly created connections between the personality and the music?
