Even though Microsoft admitted that games like Minesweeper, Solitaire and Hearts had a “devoted following,” it still chose to remove them from Windows 8.

While refurbished and modern versions are available in the Windows Store, the classic Windows games carry a unique kind of nostalgia that the new ones just don’t offer.

Microsoft is going to bring back Solitaire, though, as a built-in game on Windows 10. It is the same as the one from Windows 8, but you won’t have to search around the Windows Store to find it and play anymore.

This decision is similar to the return of the start menu, which is also absent on Windows 8, which is a feature Windows users are familiar with. Only Solitaire is back as a built-in app so far, but lots more could join it when Windows 10 finally starts shipping.
