Social networking service opens official account in Nigeria

Social networking service, Twitter has created an official account for Nigeria and two other African countries, Kenya and South Africa.

Twitter announced the accounts – @TwitterNigeria, @TwitterSA and @TwitterKenya – which debuted on Monday, February 2.

As at the time of this report, @TwitterNigeria has over 3, 000 followers while @TwitterKenya and @TwitterSA has over 5,000 and 400 followers respectively.

As expected, the accounts are all verified.

In a related development, we reported yesterday, Thursday, February 5 undefinedwhich will allow comments by Twitter users to appear highly on searches on the search giant.
