The difficulty in downloading WhatsApp is due to the way its set up. The instant messaging app requires a phone number where a notification text is sent to.

If you are having this problem, follow the following steps.

Download the to your tablet or computer.

Go to Settings>Security>Device administrators on your Android device (check that you have enabled the option to install from ‘Unknown sources’ which will allow the installation of apps from third-party sources.)

Download and install the ‘Textme’ app from the Play Store on your tablet. This Textme app allows you to send and receive SMSes.  You phone number is linked to the Textme app, SMEes sent to your number-including the whatsapp verification message- wilkl be received on your  tablet.

After installing the WhatsApp, complete the process, provide your phone number and wait for confirmation. Once the confirmation comes and you are verified, you will get full access to al Whatsapp features like chats, video and voice notes, on your tablet.
