Singer is shamefully basking in her ignorance over failure to know meaning of 'EP'
Seyi Shay does not know the meaning of EP, and she is unashamedly basking in her ignorance.
The singer is currently trending due to her recent gaffe on TV, failing to know something as basic and fundamental to a musician’s as an EP (Extended Play). On evidence of that video, she thinks EP is an ‘Electric Package’. Electric Package.
That’s not a mistake, that’s not being a rabbit in the headlights, and fumbling on TV. That’s a musician failing to know the meaning of EP. This shouldn’t happen, neither should we be discussing a subject where one of Nigeria’s most famous divas does not know the basic of her craft.
Flip through Seyi Shay’s Wikipedia page, and you would find out the level of her professionalism. She wrote and produced three songs for the soundtrack to Konami's video game Crime Life: Gang Wars (2005).She also wrote "You Will See", a song that was included on Melanie C's third studio album Beautiful Intentions (2005). Shay wrote "White Lies", a song from Chip's Transition album. In 2008, she became the lead singer for the now defunct pop girl group From Above. The group signed a recording deal with Sony/Columbia and was managed by Mathew Knowles' Music World Entertainment company. She has also released her LP, has a number of hit songs and endorsement deals.
But in all of these, she does not know the meaning of EP. The singer is proud of it though coming on Instagram to unashamedly saying "Sooooooo! Who EP don epp?" she asked haters, adding, "While some are busy trying to figure out what EP really means and making me trend for so long, we are covering papers and making headlines and making MONEEEEYYYY so we can continue this wonderful tour of Africa. We thank God... - By @pamberi_c "Get the Tonight and check out @iamseyishay on the cover."
The above statement, is honestly shameful and without a doubt, one of the dumbest statements ever made by a Nigerian artiste. It is almost on par with Skiibii’s death hoax. Thanks to technology, ignorance is now a lifestyle choice, not an excuse. Seyi Shay’s inability to know the meaning of ‘EP’ is excusable by a long stretch, but her basking in it, and trying to make fools of people who have pointed out her ignorance is innately inappropriate and immensely shameful.
