Roy Keane talks up Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag's partnership at Manchester United
Former Manchester United player Roy Keane has tipped Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Manchester United till the end of the 2022/23 season.
The Portuguese talisman signed a two-year contract on his return to Old Trafford at the beginning of the season but mixed results under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick have cast doubt on Ronaldo's future.
However, Keane believes that Ronaldo will remain at Manchester United next season to work with new manager Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo scored his 24th goal of the season in the 3-0 victory over Brentford at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The 37-year-old forward netted the second goal of the night, in between Bruno Fernandes' opener and Rafael Varane's first goal for Manchester United.
As reported by talkSPORT, Keane was asked if he thought the Brentford game would be Ronaldo's last game at Old Trafford but the pundit stated that he cannot imagine Ronaldo leaving Manchester United yet.
Keane said: "I wouldn’t have thought so. I know there’s speculation but I can’t imagine Ronaldo not being at Man United next year unless something drastic changes in the summer."
Keane believes that the former Real Madrid forward will be keen to work with incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
The football pundit stressed Ronaldo's contributions in front of goal, asserting that no manager would want to lose what Ronaldo brings to the team.
“If you look at the goals he’s got, he’s a threat and any manager would want to work with him. Simple as that," Keane concluded.
Ronaldo remains the leading goalscorer for Manchester United this season, having scored 18 league goals and six (6) goals in the Champions League.
