"She was invited" — Regina Daniels' mother denies the actress' reconciliation with Ned Nwoko

• Rita Daniels says Regina was invited to see her children at Ned Nwoko's residence.

Rita Daniels, mother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has dismissed speculation that her daughter has reconciled with her estranged husband, Delta North senator Ned Nwoko, after Regina was spotted at his residence over the weekend.

The visit triggered widespread reconciliation rumours online, given the couple's public and often bitter separation. Reacting to the backlash, Rita clarified in a private Instagram chat with actor Uche Maduagwu, who later shared the exchange publicly, that Regina's visit had nothing to do with getting back together.

"It is well, my dear. She was invited to see her children, that was what happened. Thanks a lot for your support and concern," Rita said.

Her explanation echoed an earlier statement from Regina's younger sister, Destiny Daniels, who also addressed the rumours directly on her Instagram Story. 

Destiny said Regina had simply been granted a visit to see her children, and dismissed parallel speculation that Regina was pregnant, attributing her changed appearance to weight gain instead. She was firm on one point in particular, describing her sister as "still very much single for now."

The rumours sparked visible frustration among Nigerians, including celebrities who had publicly backed Regina during her separation from Nwoko. 

Actor Stanley Ontop, one of her more vocal supporters throughout the fallout, said he felt blindsided by her visit. He said the activists he had rallied to support Regina were now angry with him, having believed his earlier assurances that she would never return to Nwoko's house.

"I almost went to prison because of this case. I was the one that posted the video of where they were harassing Regina at Ned's house. I was almost arrested because they were looking for me to be arrested. Now, let's say you didn't go there to stay, let's agree that you went there to see your children, and you were that relaxed?" he said.

Regina and Nwoko held a traditional marriage ceremony in Aniocha, Delta State, in May 2019, and share two sons, Munir, born in 2020, and Khalifa, born in 2022.

Their marriage came under intense public scrutiny in 2025 following a string of allegations that included claims of domestic violence and drug addiction, as well as the brief detention of Regina's brother, Samuel "Sammy West" Daniels, which Regina at the time linked directly to Nwoko.

As of the time of this report, neither Regina nor Ned Nwoko has personally addressed the reconciliation rumours.
