Dallas Cowboys pick in NFL Draft second round

Randy Gregory's NFL draft slide finally came to an end as he was taken with the 60th overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys.

Nebraska defensive end Gregory had been regarded as a potential top-10 pick, but tested positive for marijuana at the scouting combine in February.

Gregory duly paid for that indiscretion as he was the last player invited to the draft left in the green room on Friday.

Yet his wait finally came to an end thanks to the Cowboys, who added another player with character concerns to their roster earlier in the off-season with the signing of Greg Hardy.

Former Carolina Panthers defensive end Hardy, who signed a one-year deal with Dallas, was suspended for 10 games for an incident of domestic violence involving an ex-girlfriend last year.

But the addition of Gregory should enable Dallas to maintain a pass-rush in Hardy's absence.

Gregory finished his college career with 120 tackles and 17.5 sacks.
