Category B of the Nigerian Student Poetry Prize 2017 calls for submission
Nigerian Students Poetry Prize (NSPP) is an initiative of Poets in Nigeria (PIN) designed to stimulate creativity, promote literary excellence and broaden the concept of intellectualism among Nigerian undergraduates in Nigeria and the Diaspora.
In view of the forthcoming awards ceremony of Nigerian Students Poetry Prize in University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, Poets in Nigeria (PIN) calls for submissions of poems from secondary school students resident in Enugu.
This call pioneers the 2nd category of Nigerian Students Poetry Prize (NSPP) dedicated to the promotion of poetry writing among secondary school students in Nigeria.
Aside from rewarding top three entrants, the top 50 entrants will be jointly published in an electronically distributed anthology.
Prize
1st Prize – ₦50,000
2nd Prize – ₦30,000
3rd Prize - ₦20,000
Submission Guidelines
1. Open to secondary school students resident in Enugu.
2. Entries must be previously unpublished in both electronic and paperback formats.
3. Poems must be original, intellectual property of the entrants.
4. There are no fixed themes.
5. An entrant is entitled to a single entry of limitless word count.
6. Applying for the prize gives PIN automatic right to use entries as deemed appropriate.
7. Poets must be written in English. Native terminologies should be translated.
8. Entries should be forwarded to enugustudentswrite@gmail.com alongside name, age, gender, class, name of school and contact details (phone number and address).
9. Entrants should subscribe to www.poetsinnigeria.org.ng for regular updates.
