Late politician's wife celebrates 99th birthday

Chief (Mrs.) Hannah Dideolu Awolowo wife of late statesman, Obafemi Awolowo is 99 years old today, November 25, 2014.

Chief (Mrs.) Awolowo was born Hannah Idowu Dideolu Adelana (HID) in Ikenne, Ogun State on November 25, 1915 and was fondly described as a "jewel of inestimable value" by her late husband.

President Goodluck Jonathan has sent his congratulations to the Awolowo matriarch while also promising to participate in the celebration of her 100th year in 2015.

In a statement released by his media aide, Reuben Abati, the president also wished Mrs Awolowo a very memorable birthday celebration.
