International kit makers
Nike unveiled the home and away jerseys as well as the training wears, and tracksuits which all have a mixture of the country’s flag colours.
The inspiration for new kits for the Socceroos as they are popularly called were drawn from their qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup after the country spent 32 years without participating at any major tournament.
Australia 2018 FIFA World Cup Home Kit
The home kit is pure gold different from Brazil's samba gold jersey as it brings a difference to the traditional gold shirt and green shorts.
Nike's football design director Pete Hoppins stated that the battle cry to qualify for the 2006 World Cup was how they got the inspiration o the home kit.
He said, “In the days before Australia's triumphant game in '05, the team captain issued a public statement requesting the support of every Socceroo fan inside and outside the stadium to create a sea of gold, It’s that battle cry that inspired the home kit.”
According to a statement by Nike, the choice of an all gold attire as the home kit is, “a vibrant call to action for the national side’s new talent as it heads to Russia.”

An opposite of the home kit, the away kit is an all through green attire unlike the previous combination of colours.
Hoppins stated that the inspiration for the design for the away kits were also derived from the country’s qualification for the 2006 World Cup as it marked a turning point in Australia’s football.
He said, “Green and gold are the colors of the Australian national team, so we wanted to celebrate that directly with a green away kit. The sharp graphic on the away shirt is a reference to the sharp points on the kit worn on November 16, 2005,”
The lining on the away kit is also explained by a statement by Nike which said, “The use of Volt Yellow on the shirt makes a bold statement representative of Australia’s youthful football movement in 2018.”
